Ragdoll kittens are known for
their calm disposition, soft voices, trainability, large size,
beautiful long silky coat, blue eyes, playfulness and the
tendency to go limp (like a Ragdoll) when held.
Ragdoll cats make good indoor pets as they are
not rambunctious like some breeds. While male
Ragdolls can grow to between 15 and 20 pounds, they
require up to three years to reach full
maturity. The Ragdoll cat comes in several
colors - chocolate, blue, seal, red, cream and
lilac. The Ragdoll's patterns are mitted (white paws and
belly but with a belly stripe), solid/pointed (dark color at
the nose, ears, tail and paws) and bicolor (white
legs & belly with an inverted V on the
face). While the Ragdoll's coat needs regular
grooming, care is not as involved as might be the case with
other longhair breeds. Note that the Ragamuffin is
similar in temperament to the Ragdoll but with additional color
options. This version exists more as a result of a split
among cat breeding associations as the Ragdoll name
is trademarked. Following are several videos
of Ragdoll kittens.
